within FR even druids get their magic from a specific diety just as a cleric would.

So what difference is there with a Druid of Silvanus and a cleric of Silvanus?

(...) a cleric is a priest, associated with a church whose goal is the spreading of their gods message and furthering the church. a Druid is more holistic their first priority is the protection of nature, through this and the actions they take they serve to further the agenda of their god.

I personally dislike this. A lot. I really liked the option of being able to care for Nature itself regardless of any god (which is how I remember things from AD&D 2nd Ed). This tying of druids and rangers to deities is, for me, a step backwards. This alone takes the ranger from being one of my favourite classes to being one of my least favourite ones. It feels like as if the ranger were to the druid what the paladin is to the cleric, with the druid being almost like just another kind of cleric. I can't help but perceive this as throwing away all the originality of the druid/ranger pair of classes, which greatly annoys me. But, as I said, that's just my personal view.
